The district is divided into 14 sub-districts (tambons), which are further divided into 134 villages (mubans). The district is known for its beautiful natural scenery, which includes mountains, waterfalls, and beaches.
Some of the major attractions in Tha Sala District include Khao Luang National Park, which features the highest mountain in southern Thailand, and the Namtok Yong National Park, which boasts several waterfalls and hot springs. Other popular tourist spots include Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan, a Buddhist temple with a large pagoda, and Ban Khiri Wong, a village known for its traditional handicrafts.
The district is also known for its agriculture, particularly the cultivation of durian, mangosteen, and other tropical fruits. Fishing is another important industry, with the Tha Sala River being a major source of fish for the region.
